Started in Carbon Cliff, Illinois when Joseph "Hob" Cantrell started fixing vehicles in a shop behind his house and needed a wrecker to get cars to his shop. When his bosses at John Deere Planter & Plow started letting him leave early from work to fix their personal vehicles, he realized that it was something that he should shift to full time.

Sons Danny & Lonnie joined the family business.

Added a larger wrecker to increase towing capabilities to include heavy duties vehicles like semis.

Aaron Tennant purchased Cantrell's and moved to their current location in Colona, Illinois. Cantrell's shares the same facility with B&B Truck & Trailer. Aaron is in the driver's seat of a wrecker more often than his office in Colona.
